The Cygwin Tools are a set of freeware compilers (mainly for GNU C/C++), other programming tools (such as debuggers), and utility programs (such as the BASH shell) for Windows 95/98/NT/2000. They provide many of the same useful tools you would find on a typical Unix platform.
