Assignment 2 Submission
If you do not have a CS account...
...check your email. I'm told CS account passwords are being sent out
this afternoon (really, this time).
If you still don't have a CS account, submit your assignment to an AFS
directory I have set up...
- Name your file using your RCS login name like this rcsid.1.scm
- Here's how you can submit your file. (These instructions are
from last year, so I hope everything's the same.)
- On RCS windows machines, click on the desktop RCS icon and connect to the
public areas. You'll have to type your RCS username and password. Then
open the "dept", "cs", and "ai" folders. Drop your file into the
"submit2" directory.
- From RCS UNIX machines, copy your file to the directory
/dept/cs/ai/submit2
- From old CS machines (I know it works on coffeepot but
not on monica), you must first authenticate to the RCS AFS
cell using the command
klog -cell rpi.edu -principal rcsid
(If your RCS login name is the same as your CS login name, I think you
can omit the last part.)
Copy your file to the directory
/afs/rpi.edu/dept/cs/ai/submit2.
- You will only have permission to copy a
file into this directory and to list the contents of this
directory. You cannot read, modify, or delete files in this
directory. If you find you've made a mistake and need to submit your
file again, rename your file by incrementing the number
(e.g. rcsid.2.scm).
Policy for electronic submission for Assignment 2
- You may submit of your code up to 3 times.
- For your third submission, there will be a 5% reduction in your
score. This should encourage you to get it right on one of your first
two submissions for which there is no reduction. Any late penalties
will also be deducted.
- Your grade will be the maximum of your submissions (with
any applicable reductions to each one individually).
- Currently, the web tester does not check whether you have written
a recursive or nonrecursive solutions. We will either add this
capability to the web tester or check this manually afterwards. If
you submit a recursive solution when the problem specifically asked
for a nonrecursive solution, we will revise your score appropriately.
How it works
Submitting your code
- You need a CS account (with Kerberos password). You should have
all received a password by email (to your RCS account) on Monday
9/10. If you do not have a CS account and need one, contact the TA
Zie Kone (konez@cs.rpi.edu) who will request one for you. If for
some reason need your password reset, contact labstaff@cs.rpi.edu.
- Next, go to
the Assignment 2 Web Tester. You will probably need to accept the
site certificate from the server.
